My main contractor asked for a BIM model. Where do I start?+
First, request the base architectural and structural model from your main contractor, or ask for access to their Common Data Environment (CDE) so we can work from the correct federated model. Then send us your 2D drawings in AutoCAD, PDF, or hand sketches. We'll review your scope, confirm what is needed, and give you a fixed price and delivery timeline. No BIM software or experience required on your end.
How much does MEP BIM modeling cost?+
Pricing depends on the number of systems, floor area, and coordination complexity. We provide a fixed-scope quote after reviewing your drawings, so there are no surprises. Contact us with your project details for a quote.
Do I need to provide an IFC model for regulatory submission?+
Your main contractor may need to submit a coordinated federated BIM model that includes your MEP systems. You may not need to submit directly, but you may need to provide an IFC+SG compliant model of your scope. We build that model from your drawings and deliver it ready for federation and submission.
Can you work with PDF or 2D drawings?+
Yes. We obtain architectural and structural models from the main contractor or consultant, then develop 3D MEP models from your 2D drawings in AutoCAD, PDF, or even hand sketches. The model is coordinated against the federated model to ensure no clashes.
Do you attend coordination meetings on our behalf?+
Yes. Your dedicated BIM coordinator can attend ICE sessions and coordination meetings with the main contractor, either on-site or virtually. We present clash reports, walk through the model, and update it based on decisions made during the meeting.
How do you handle design changes and ongoing coordination?+
A dedicated BIM coordinator handles your project in an ISO 19650-compliant environment. We update MEP systems as designs evolve, attend ICE sessions and coordination meetings with the main contractor on your behalf (on-site or virtually), and update the model based on decisions made during those meetings.
